The last week of 2022 will have the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams both in tournaments. The JV will be in action in the Parkway Invitational at Parkway North starting on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM against Oakville. The varsity will compete Monday at 1:30 PM against Edwardsville, IL in the Don Maurer Invitational Tournament that is held at MICDS annually.

Patriots Sweep Lions

All three high school levels won at Northwest Cedar Hill Wednesday night, the programs third sweep of a school this season! The Freshman team fell behind early 17-6 but battled back to take the lead in the second half. However, Northwest went ahead in the final minute to take a 31-30 only to have Isaiah Scott make a floater in the final seconds to win the game 32-31.
In the JV game…the constant pressure and some long distance shooting gave the Patriots a large lead early and they never trailed in route to a 52-31 victory. Sam Duncan lead all scorers with 24 points.
In the varsity, Evan Renz kept South in the game early with three of his six three pointers as the Patriot went on to win 58-43. Evan Renz lead all scorers with 22 points on six three pointers!

The Patriots traveled to HyVee Arena in Kansas City, MO Saturday afternoon to play in the 12 Courts of Christmas Shootout and came away with a 53-47 overtime win over Oakville. South led throughout the game and took a 44-37 lead with 3:38 to play only to see the Tigers score the final seven points to send the game to OT. In overtime, Evan Renz made all four of free throws to seal the victory. Three Patriots finished in double figures…Jaylen Calloway 15, and Even Renz, 12. Eddie Ahearn had his third double double of the season (14 points, 15 rebounds)! With the win, Parkway South improved their record to 5-2.
