South Tops North in All Three Games
The South Patriots swept the Vikings Friday night at Parkway South!
In the freshmen game, Jacob Sidwell made two free throws with no time on the clock to win the game 61-60! Sidwell and Isaiah Scott had team high 16 points each.
In the JV game, it was tuff to score early for both teams as the halftime score was 11-4, but the second half was better for the Patriots as they won 42-17. Lukas O’Neal led all scorers with 15 points.
It was much of the same in the varsity game in the first half as South went to the locker room up 18-16. In the second half, Evan Renz heated up scoring 20 points in the second half to lead the Patriots to a 54-36 victory. Renz led all scorers with 25 points.

Patriots Sweep Lions
All three high school teams won Tuesday night! The freshmen playing at home opened up an early lead and never looked back beating Zumwalt East 47-15. Isaiah Scott led South in scoring with 10 points.
Across the river at Zumwalt East High School, the JV team went back and forth and won 52-40 behind a game high 23 from Sam Duncan. The varsity fell behind by as many as 8 points in the first quarter but a 19-4 second quarter put South in control. The Patriots won the second half 42-36 and went on to win 76-62! Eddie Ahearn led all scorers with 25, Evan Renz had 18 points on six three pointers, Jaylen Calloway scored 16 and was a perfect 4-4 on free throws, Monte Hurt and Ryan Shanfeld chipped in seven each.

JV Tops Northwest
In the final game of the Lafayette JV Boys Basketball Tournament, the Patriots beat the Lions 42-33. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Summit High School but a HVAC issue forced the game to be played at Northwest High School. South improved their record to 10-10 on the season. Ross McCulla lead PS in scoring with 12 points.
