GoFund Me for PS Basketball Program

Posted by PS Patriots Basketball at Nov 20, 2020 10:44AM PST ( 0 Comments )

We are raising money to benefit Parkway South Boys Basketball Development Organization II, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to our program. Our budget has been crippled by Covid-19, and our typical fundraising efforts over the summer were not permitted to take place. In addition to buying equipment needed for daily practice, we need to finance two trips the Varsity is taking out of town, our scouting video package, new practice uniforms, new backboards for the side baskets in the gym, and other various types of new equipment for the players. Thank you in advance for considering.

Practice Begins December 1

Posted by 7th Grade at Nov 18, 2020 6:54PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hello 7th Grade Parents-

Thank you to both Phil Simmons and Clarence Williams. They have both been working to reserve gym space for December practice. Phil was able to secure the gym at the RiverChase of Fenton Recreation Center (990 Horan Dr, Fenton, MO 63026) on Tuesday nights in December from 5:30-7:00. We still do not know if we will be able to use the gym at P South in January and beyond but we have a start to the season with practice!

The St. Louis County school athletes have a new rule that they are to wear a mask at all times while playing sports. This includes during practices and games. We are asking that all Jr Patriots players follow the same rule. Please also bring your own water bottles and basketballs. The RiverChase closes at 7:00 so please be prompt picking up your son.

The cost to rent the gym is $35 for each player that will need to be paid thru Venmo at Parkway-South-Basketball-1. You can also write a check made out to Parkway South Jr. Patriots or hand your coach $35 cash. Payment needs to be paid before or at the first practice.

We will need to have your signed waiver before the first practice emailed to Mike Shanfeld at or handed to your coach at the first practice.

We will also be using this season for additional communication for practices and games. Please click on the “team” tab on the website and then scroll down to 7th Grade to view schedules and practices.

I hope all is well with your families-

Varsity Plans Two Trips

Posted by PS Patriots Basketball at Nov 16, 2020 6:58AM PST ( 0 Comments )

The Varsity Patriots plan to make two trips out of the St. Louis area for the first time in school history in the 2020-21 season. The team has made trips to Cape Girardeau, Missouri for a shootout but for the first time will travel to Kansas City to take on Oak Park High on December 11th. Oak Park is the alma mater of Athletic Director Matt Roach and will be the furthest West the team has traveled.
On January 15th, the Patriots will take on former player and current head coach of the Windsor Owls, Ryan McArthy in a game played at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, Indiana. The Hoosier Gym is the site where the movie Hoosiers was filmed in 1986.

Hello parents,
With the COVID-19 pandemic we will not have tryouts and we are inviting all of those boys that played in the Jr Patriots Program last year a spot on this year’s teams. If some parents decide to opt out, we will ask for additional players from the South community. We will enter the CNR league that will play games in St. Charles and Jefferson Counties and hopefully in St. Louis County from January thru March. We will not be able to be in the gyms at P South till January at the earliest and we might not be able to get in then either.
We will enter 12 games from January thru March and if we can practice starting in January we will, if we can not practice….we will play games only. We would normally enter three tournaments, this year we are not sure if we will offer tournaments. We understand that this is not an ideal situation, however with the uncertainty of the times this is the best we can do for this season. If you would like to have your son play, please click on the link below.
Additional information:
Cost: Approximately $100 for 12 league games (depends on how many kids participate), plus a uniform for $60 if a new one is needed for your son. Total of approximately $160. Additional fees may be added if we are able to practice and have tournaments.
Payments: Due when the teams are official.
Season: January-March
Teams: Blue and Red teams will remain the same as last year unless we need to fill spots for those that decide to opt out.
Refunds: If no games are played, a full refund will be given with the exclusion of the uniform.

Registration form:

If anything changes we will let you know as soon as we know.
Deadline to register: Saturday, October 31st
