The 2021-22 season for both the high school teams and the feeder teams are set to kick off on November 1 and October 25 respectively.
Tryouts for the Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will be begin November 1 right after school in Gym A. Make sure your physicals are updated on Privit prior to tryouts.
Practices for fifth, sixth and seventh will begin the week of October 25th. Eighth Grade will begin their practices the week of November 1st. All dates and times have been posted to the “team” tab on the website.

New for the 2021-22 Jr Pats season, D1 Training and the Junior Patriots Basketball board members have reached an agreement on eight sessions. Trainers from D1 will be coming to Parkway South during practices to lead our student athletes in basketball specific training drills! The board members are hoping the players will build core strength, improve jumping ability, build quickness and become better athletes.
The agreement will also include an opportunity for boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling and football players in the Parkway South feeder programs to attend a summer camp at D1 Manchester specifically for those athletes!

On January 14th, the Patriots will take on former player and current head coach of the Windsor Owls, Ryan McArthy in a game played at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, Indiana. The Hoosier Gym is the site where the movie Hoosiers was filmed in 1986. The trip was originally scheduled for last season but the Hoosier Gym was shut down all winter because of Covid-19. That game was moved to Windsor High School with the Owls winning 52-48. Three South players scored in double figures…Tristan Brand-16, Evan Renz 15 and Eddie Ahearn-10.

Adam Sommer has signed to play basketball next year at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas. Sommer is a 2020 graduate of Parkway South and last year attended Bosco Institute in Chicago. Adam left South with four school records which included the most points in a game with 42.

Three of the senior basketball players have signed on to continue their education and basketball in college!

Tristan Brand Guard 6"0" 165lbs 11.8ppg Culver Stockton
Tristan finished his senior season as the teams leading scorer averaging 11.8 point per game. He led the team in three point percentage at 32.0%, free throw percentage with 78.2% as well as dives with 25.

Rhyan Shanklin Guard 6’0" 175lbs 7.3ppg MidAmercia Nazarene
In Rhyan’s senior season he led the team in defensive rebounds with 54, total rebounds with 85 as well as deflections with 88. Rhyan was a key to the Patriots defense in 2021.

Sebastian Sutton Guard/Forward 6’2" 180lbs Central Methodist
Sebastian played in only one game his senior year as he tore his ACL going for a block in the game against Parkway North. Seb was a three year varsity player.
