2021-22 Junior Patriots Tryouts

The plan is to have two teams at each grade level with each grade level keeping approximately 20 kids (10 on each team). The Blue team will have the top 10 with the next 10 on the Red team.

PLEASE NOTE***If you are trying out for the team, we will assume that you will play for the Jr Patriots Program. PLEASE DO NOT TRY OUT IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING ON PLAYING WITH US. We have had some kids try out, then after making the team they said they will not play Jr Pats and thus leaving us shorthanded and another kid being left out after they have been cut from the team.

• 5th grade -September 15th 5:30-5:45-Registration, 5:45-6:00-Parent meeting, 6:00-7:30-Tryouts
• Registration- Please register ahead of time by clicking here https://forms.gle/wLH9rK1bHccgyaxRA . You can also register on the day of the try out at the door.
• Commitment- If you try out for our program and do not plan on playing for the Jr Patriots, please let us know before the teams are posted. We have had kids tryout and then decide after teams are posted that they do not want to participate, thus leaving us shorthanded and another kid being left out after they have been cut from the team.
• If you are playing on more than one basketball team, the Jr. Patriots team needs to be the priority. During practices, coaches will be teaching basketball skills as well as set plays, if your child misses practices playing time will be affected and if missing regularly could be asked to leave the program.
• League and Tournament Information – Teams will play in one area league (10 games) and at least three tournaments. This will be determined on a team by team and coach by coach basis. The CNR League schedule is from November 6th-March 13th. League games are played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Tournament games could be played on weekdays, depending on the tournament.
• Practices – There will be two or three practices a week starting the week of October 25th, they are held at Parkway South High School. Coaches will be in contact with team members when the teams are set for exact dates and times. We understand that there will be conflicts, please work out any conflicts with your team’s coach.
• Fees – $440.00 (uniform + shooting shirt)
  The fee is due on or before the first day of practice. Fee will cover the cost of uniforms, league entry fee, three tournaments, gym time, D1 Training and other equipment costs. Pay by Venmo at Parkway-South-Basketball-1, cash or check made out to Parkway South Jr. Patriots Basketball.

• Uniform Fitting- There will be a uniform fitting if you need a new uniform on Thursday, September 30 from 7:00pm-8:00pm in Gym A at Parkway South.
• Coaches for 2021-22- We have two coaches for one of the two teams. We are still looking for two coaches for another fifth grade team. If you are interested in coaching please contact Mike Shanfeld at mshanfeld@parkwayschools.net. Please note that coaches are volunteers and have a strong knowledge of the game.
